Michael J. Ryan focuses his practice on medical malpractice defense, long-term care/nursing home defense, health care state regulatory board defense, and professional liability defense. He also practices in the areas of insurance litigation and insurance bad faith.

Mr. Ryan has tried numerous medical malpractice defense/nursing home defense cases to verdict in several Arizona counties. Mr. Ryan practices in all areas of medical malpractice and long term care defense, but in addition, has developed a subspecialty in defending ophthalmologists and optometrists in malpractice cases against them. He has tried several eye cases to verdict. Mr. Ryan has defended health care professionals before the Arizona Medical Board, the Arizona Board of Osteopathic Examiners, the Arizona Board of Optometry, and the Arizona Nursing Board. Mr. Ryan has served as a judge pro tempore in Maricopa County.
