Suzanne Beard Alicyn Freeman is a shareholder at Broening Oberg Woods & Wilson, P.C. Her primary practice areas are insurance coverage, bad-faith litigation and insurance defense litigation. Alicyn began her career as a litigator and coverage lawyer with Broening Oberg Woods & Wilson in 2005. She was elected partner in 2011 and shareholder in 2015. Alicyn has obtained the Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rating and was recognized by Southwest Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in 2014-2018. She is also a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC). Alicyn’s jury trial experience includes a 2017 defense verdict in an insurance fraud case in Arizona District Court, a 2010 defense verdict in a high exposure professional liability case and a successful verdict in a sixteen day trial in 2015.

In 2017, Alicyn successfully obtained a defense verdict for an insurance carrier client in a breach of contract/insurance bad faith lawsuit. – Our insurance client was sued for breach of contract, first-party bad-faith, and punitive damages after denying a homeowners property claim for fraud. We obtained a dismissal of the bad faith and punitive damages claims on motion and obtained a unanimous defense verdict after a four-day jury trial in federal court. Alicyn’s trial experience also includes a successful verdict in a sixteen day trial in 2015 and a 2010 defense verdict in a high exposure professional liability case.
