Alice Jones presents CLE regarding overview and update on the Civil Appellate Rules of Procedure
Alice presented a continuing legal education seminar providing an overview of civil appeals in Arizona, built around the principle that, in every case, it is important to anticipate and prepare for the possibility that an order or judgment may be appealed. The presentation reviewed what judgments and orders may be appealed, the requirements for an appealable judgment or order, the relevant procedures and applicable rules in special actions and direct appeals, the importance of creating a good record for the appeal, the policies applicable to the different divisions of the Arizona Court of Appeals, and general practice tips for briefing and oral argument.
