Nick Scavio conducts CLE on federal court procedures
On January 29, 2019 , Nick Scavio conducted a CLE for the firm titled “Federal Court: How to get there (and what to do once you’re in)”. With the growing number of Federal Court matters our firm is taking, this CLE gave members of the firm a chance to review jurisdictional requirements of the District Court. In doing so, this CLE covered subject matter jurisdiction, including diversity jurisdiction and how to remove. Nick also discussed personal jurisdiction and performed a case study of where we successfully dismissed a case brought in the wrong venue. Finally, Nick compared practice in the Arizona District Court with the Superior Courts throughout the State. This comparison included early procedural mandates and discovery differences between the FRCP and ARCP.
