Alice Jones presents CLE on Arizona Appellate Law in 2020

On February 24, 2020, Alice presented to the Tucson Defense Bar at the Hotel Congress for their February CLE Luncheon.  Her presentation, “What New in Appeals? Appellate Law in Arizona 2020,” covered recent opinions issued in 2019 and early 2020 by the Arizona Court of Appeals and Arizona Supreme Court that are applicable to civil litigators.  She also discussed recent changes at the Arizona Court of Appeals and the Arizona Supreme Court as well as recent rule amendments.  The Tucson Defense Bar was very welcoming and Alice enjoyed meeting several Tucson practitioners.…

Kate Corcoran and Jessica Kokal defense a $6 million medical malpractice suit

Following a nearly three-week trial, Kate Corcoran, Jessica Kokal, and Terrilee Prentiss received a unanimous defense verdict in the initial portion of a bifurcated wrongful death medical negligence case in which Plaintiffs had asked for $6 million in compensatory damages.  This success negated the need for the second portion of the trial regarding punitive damages and resulted in the possible award of both costs and offer of judgment sanctions for Defendants.…
